Classic Sailing Holidays and Mile Building from the Solent to Cornwall. Pilot Cutter Racing
Pilot Cutter Regatta, Cornwall

The Pilot Cutter Review 21 - 28 May 2012 Join in Hamble at 0900** and leave in St Mawes at 1000. 4 Days cruising, 3 days racing.

Annabel J once again returns to St Mawes to take part in this spectacular event. This event acknowledges the popularity, beauty and sailing qualities of these fine vessels by bringing together as many Pilot cutters as possible as a celebration of traditional sail. The Pilot cutters assemble for a 'social' evening on Thursday 24 May in Fowey. The following morning the crews race the cutters the 24 miles to St Mawes, followed by 2 further days of racing from St Mawes. No previous experience is needed as full instruction is given during the sailing prior to the first event and the pace of the sailing is always very calm and friendly.

** B&B is available the previous evening on board if required.

Concentration is intense at the start

You will join Annabel J in the beautiful Hamble river at 0900. After meeting the other guests and crew and safety briefings, we will set sail to Fowey. On our voyage to Fowey along the beautiful Dorset and Cornish coast you will be involved fully in running the ship and there may be some night sailing when you will work watches.

Sail In Company: On our way to Fowey we sail in company with the other Solent Pilot Cutters. We are due to arrive on Thursday evening and will aim to stop along the way in ports such as Dartmouth, and Salcombe. In Fowey the Pilot Cutters will all raft up together for the Thursday evening Barbecue with free beer "Tribute" thanks to the kind sponsorship of St Austell Brewery.

St Austell Brewery Tribute Passage Race Fowey to St Mawes.

The racing is gentle and good humoured - however we always aim to win! On Friday morning, we begin the racing with a 24 mile passage race from Fowey to St Mawes. The Race is sponsored by St Austell Brewery as the 'Tribute Passage Race'. There will be a Crew Reception in St Mawes Sailing Club on the Friday evening.
